Bil’in Onion 2007
steel, fiberglass, found ventilation system, red duct tape, sound component
approx 9’ x 9’ diameter
Sound component: A live recording I captured of The Palestinian village of Bil’in being gassed by the Israeli Defense Forces on June 12th 2007. note: after living in the West Bank, I observed and participated in sniffing on an onion after being gassed. The scent of the onion actually cuts through the burning effects of the teargas, allowing one’s brain to remember to keep breathing.
